The Problem
Restaurant owners faced disjointed workflows with unsynced online and POS data, limiting online reach. They struggled with outdated or inflexible website options, hindering efforts to expand sales channels, boost revenue, and digitize operations. This led to missed opportunities for online orders (dine-in or takeaway), inefficient table management, and difficulty filling empty seats without pre-booking features.
Research & Findings
Collaborated with my team to research existing market solutions, identifying key needs: seamless POS integration, flexible design, and core features (menu, ordering, booking).
Design Solution
- Optimized the ordering flow with a streamlined add-to-cart process and maximized menu visibility within a single viewport for efficient browsing.
- Used a neutral, intuitive color palette (e.g., grays, whites) for easy customization and scalability to match client branding needs.
- Researched and integrated POS-Webshop data syncing, adding features like loyalty points and promotions to enhance customer engagement.
- Ensured consistency with a design system, enabling quick customization (e.g., color schemes, logos) while including must-have features like menus, online orders, and table reservations.
Results
- Simplified data syncing between website and POS.
- Enabled fast, brand-aligned customization for restaurant owners.
- Enhanced customer access to online ordering and table reservations, increasing revenue and occupancy.
